Palak Biriyani

 


Have you tried any Biriyani at home .. I have tried this biriyani for first time it turned out yumm , Didnot refer any video or any cookbook for this recipe gave a try to do something new , If you get palak at home , usually you can prepare dosa , palav , curry with paneer , why cant we make biryani , preparing this doesnot require rocket science easily beginners can make with help of home ingredients.

Ingredients : 

Palak - 200gm
Water - 3 glass 
Rice - 1 cup
Ghee - 1 spoon
Palav leaf - 2
Green chilly - 2
Pepper - 4
Jeera - 1/2 spoon 
Salt as per required - 2 spoons i used 
Clove - 5
Cinnamon - 2 small sticks
Ginger - 2 small pieces 
Garlic - 10 to 12 
Onion - 2
Oil  - 6 spoon
Onion - 2 
Turmeric powder - 1/4 spoon
Red chilly powder - 1/2 spoon 
Jeera powder - 1//2 spoon 
Coriander powder - 1/2spoon
Garam masala - 1/2 spoon 
Pepper powder - 1/2 spoon 
Curd - 1 spoon
Sugar - 1 spoon optional 


Method of preparing : 

*  Take 1 cup of Basmati Rice wash it 3 times and soak it for 15 minutes.
* After 15 minutes drain the water add 2 cups of water , add salt , ghee , cinnamon , pepper , jeera , clove give a good mix 
* Place it in a Cooker and take 3 whistles .
* Wash Palak not need to cut them , roughly cut them with the help of hand and put it in a mixer , add 1/4 cup water , ginger , green chilly , garlic , blend them with smooth paste (note : dont add more water).
* Chop onion in length 
* Take a small pan add 2 spoon oil ,add chopped onion fry them till you get brown color  (donot burn it)
* You can add sugar a pinch for making onion crispy while stirring .
* Now take a kadai add 2 spoon oil , add small chopped onion to it once onion turns pink , add potato add little salt and water for cooking ,(keep gas flame on medium ).
* Once the onion and potato  is boiled to 90% add spices like coriander powder , jeera powder , pepper powder , garam masala , you can add biriyani masala (optional if you would like to add ).
* Give a nice mix once you get aroma add grinded palak paste to it and keep on stirring .
*Once you get nice smell add 1 spoon of curd and little sugar its totally optional , this time you can check the gravy taste if you want to add any ingredients can add . 
* Now its time to make layers 
* Add little rice in big bowl , add gravy , then add rice an gravy keep on continuing 
* Finally add chopped coriander and fried onion on it and place again in cooker for cooking for 1 whistle .
* Once done serve it with raita
