Kadgi Chakko (Jackfruit Curry )


    

                 Hi friends here is another recipe of jackfruit , you can prepare this recipe when jackfruit is raw , this recipe is usually made in south India , Konkani Recipes , or can say Jackfruit Sukka , most people love this recipe , when there is jackfruit available ; My mom doesnot fail to make this recipe , do try and share us your experience, surely this recipe is  addictive .

Ingredients : 

  • Raw Jackfruit - 3 cups 
  • Coriander seeds - 1 tsp
  • Udid dal  - 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilly - 5(check once the spice of chilly)
  • Sugar - 1 spoon or Jaggery - 1 spoon 
  • Fresh Coconut grated - 1.5 cup 
  • Tamarind
  • mustard - 1 spoon
  • Curry leaves 
  • Oil - for cooking 
  • Salt as per required 


Instructions : 

Boil Raw Jackfruit for 5 whistles in cooker . when cooker turns cool remove the jackfruit and smash them with the help of spoon .

* Dry Roast Coriander seeds, udid dal , dry chillies in a pan .

* After cooling add the roasted spices , along with fresh grated coconut ,
   tamarind(lemon size ),jaggery in a mixer and blend it finely without adding water .

*  In a pan add coconut Oil when oil is heated add mustard, after spluttering add curry leaves.

* Slowly add boiled jackfruit to it , add salt and grinded masala .

* Cook it for 15 minutes in low flame , keep on stirring the curry .

* Put little water if the curry sticks the pan .

* Serve hot with dal and rice.
