Instant Spongy Rava Dhokla


      Hi friends , Today thought of sharing  one of the interesting recipes of Gujarati , you might be heard about Khaman Dhokla where you get in sweet mart and as well as you may get instant khaman dhokla mix pack from grocery shop , instead buying them in grocery you can still prepare it in home so todays recipe I would like to share is Rava dhokla , as this recipe I tried for the first time it turned out so good ,cooking this recipe will take 45 minutes , where steaming 15 minutes , batter for resting 30 minutes, so even beginners can make this recipe , while you make this recipe if you find any difficulty please do comment or any query can share with us .

Now Let's See the ingredients below :

Ingredients

 * Rava - 1 cup , 
* 1 cup thick curd ,
* ½ tsp sugar, 
* 1 tsp ginger grated,
* 1 tsp green chilly paste, 
* 2 tsp oil,
* salt to taste,
* ¼ cup water, 
* 1 tsp eno(any flavor) 

For Tempering :

  • 2 tsp oil,
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds,
  • ½ tsp jeera ,
  • ½ tsp sesame seeds,
  • pinch of hing,
  • few curry leaves,
  • 2 green chilly,
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves.  
Method of Preparing :

  • Firstly, in a large bowl take rava and curd.
  • Add sugar, ginger, chilly paste and salt.
  • Mix well to form a thick batter.
  • Rest for 30 minutes or till rava absorbs moisture.
  • Further add water as required and mix well.
  • Make dhokla to idli batter consistency.
  • After 30 mins add eno. 
  • Mix gently till the batter turns frothy.
  • Transfer to the greased plate.
  • Steam the dhokla batter for 12 minutes.
  • Prepare the tempering by heating oil.
  •  Add mustard seeds, jeera, sesame seeds and hing.
  • Once the mustard seeds splutter add in curry leaves and green chilly
  • Saute for a while and once the tempering splutters spread the tempering over dhokla.
  • Also sprinkle coriander leaves.
  • And cut the dhokla to desired shape.
  • Finally serve soft and spongy Rava Dhokla with green chutney.
